Blossoming Soul Therapies

Q:Can you tell me about your background and how you became a healing arts therapist?

Denise:  I have been studying and practicing metaphysical healing all my life.  I am a highly intuitive empath since birth/childhood.  Through the past 30 years I have been cultivating many certifications/specializations in hypnosis, herbalism, homeopathy, crystal healing, energy medicine, reflexology and more.  My academic studies were honed through psychology, communications, indigenous cultures, women studies and religious/spiritual studies, as well as that I hold a masters degree with concentrations in Anatomy and Physiology in Eastern Medicine, Energy Medicine, Spirituality.

Q: Can you elaborate on the definition of healing arts therapist?

Denise : My definition of a healing arts therapist is a practitioner of natural healing practicums.

Q: What inspired you to open Blossoming Soul Therapies?

Denise : I saw Blossoming Soul Therapies many, many moons ago, although it was something that took a back burner to raise my three daughters and to deal with challenges that commenced as well as a couple natural disasters.  I have been using the name for over 15 years so that is how long ago I saw this as a forecast for my future.

Q: Can you tell me about the services you offer and which is the most popular?

Denise : Yes!  Reflexology and Energy Medicine are the most popular because clients see and feel an immediate change in their systems and grids.  Because of this I have now made a combined service of reflexology and an attunement.  But I still recommend both full services back to back within a week for optimal growth and shifting.

Q: Tell me more about Mary’s Place and teaching there.

Denise : MPBTS is a sanctuary for women with cancer to heal mind, body and soul.  I have been teaching  a class weekly at Mary’s Place by the Sea for 2 1/2 years it is called Integrative Self Care Therapies.  It includes learning to tap, toning, creative visualization and full body tapping techniques and practices while on the cancer journey.  I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this special place that services women during a time of great need.   I teach private & group sessions of this to anyone who could use the techniques and everyone can!  I have taught to groups of social workers to high school students.

Q: How can Energies be unbalanced?

Denise : Energies become unbalanced through physical, emotional and spiritual trauma, dis-ease, dna experiences, conditioned environmental patterns and habits.

Q: How can energies become balanced?

Denise: Energies become balanced through the use of many healing practices.   As per the services BST offers Reflexology, Energy Medicine and the Sweat Lounge produce extremely quick responses to detoxifying negative energies.  But just entering BST can make a slight shift due to the amount of large healing crystals in the space.

Q: Are there negative energies?  What can someone do about it?

Denise :The concept of negative energies is subjective to the person who has manifested the energy of something being negative as in the examples stated above.  Our experiences and environmental conditions can weigh us down with negative energies.  An example that everyone can relate too in this geographic area was felt after Sandy.  Everyone felt the abuse and traumatic energy that consumed during, afterward and still holds some residue in the local environment.

Q: What would you be doing if you were not a healing arts therapist?

Denise : Writing a book, which has been a lifetime goal I plan to meet.

Q: What was the inspiration behind the sweat lounge?

Denise : The inspiration behind the Sweat Lounge began from my youth.  My mother saw that we had things to do during our summers so we spent them at a beach club that had a sauna and winter we had a fitness club memberships.  I went into the saunas everyday I could.   I absolutely loved the release of a sweat.  Then in my twenties and thirties through studying indigenous cultures I attended several native american sweat lodges for spiritual journey work.  I recently became enthralled of the concept of the sauna being used to detox at Sunshine Kate’s in Ocean Twp.  Kate is a nutritionist with a two person sauna.  I spent a good year sweating there weekly, practicing my own routine of acupoint therapies and emotional, physical and spiritual drainage during a sweat on myself.  I believe sweating permits the body, mind and spirit to cleanse unconditionally and naturally.

The Sweat Lounge at Blossoming Soul is made entirely of Eucalyptus wood, which is a premium quality for aromatic respiratory health benefits.  This model the mpulse discovery, holds up to 4 people for for cost efficiency and it is perfect for couples as each would have the ability to lay down.   We offer hot stones to be used in the sauna, crystals are in the sauna, herbal therapy pillows and we offer full towel service so you do not need to bring anything with you.

It is also equipped with Chromotherapy.  Chromotherapy is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony.  Each color possesses frequencies of a specific vibration, and each vibration is related to different physical symptoms. Chromotherapy works on various energy points to help balance your body via the full spectrum of visible light, each color of which addresses a distinct need.

Our Sauna is also equipped with A.R.T.  Chiropractor-consulted in design, the benches of the mPulse home sauna kits reduce stress on the body and are deeper than industry average for optimal comfort. A.R.T. creates an environment for the body to experience the benefits of sound and vibrational healing by stimulating our feeling sense.

This model also has yoga and movement capabilities as it is spacious for one person and the two benches are removable.

Solocarbon® 3-in-1 full spectrum technology is unique in its ability to provide near, mid and far infrared in saunas at optimal wavelengths, proven effective.

Q: How is the Sweat lounge able to aid in weight loss?

Denise : Sunlighten mPluse Discovery Sauna (which is the state of the art sauna in BST) has concluded through several research studies that through patterns of Far, Mid infrared levels during a 30-45 minute session that weight loss is achievable.  More so is the shrinkage of the waistline.

In a 2009 study, our infrared saunas were shown to help lower weight and waist circumference in just a three-month period. The common theme among subjects in the study was that far infrared sauna use was similar to moderate exercise but "much more relaxing".  Therefore, Sunlighten saunas can be an effective lifestyle advantage for those who cannot participate in traditional exercise programs due to medical conditions such as osteoarthritis, cardiovascular or respiratory problems.¹
