letting go of fear
Aug 9, 2016
Wow. Today my website went live. Whatever that means. Lol. For those of you who know me well, I am not technical at all.
Before I hit the send button to let the world know I now have a blog, I was so nervous. I was nervous that the task was too big, that people would laugh or think the site was ridiculous.
Exactly the opposite has happened – there is such an outpouring of support and genuine excitement and energy that fills me with gratitude.
But let’s get back to the fear. I was so fearful that I was reaching outside of my comfort zone, so afraid that this is all new to me.
That fear hides in our habits--- running the same route because we know it, eating the same foods for fear of weight gain, working out like a crazy person to “be healthy”… and so on…
But at some point, fear gets old. It hides the beauty and courage of the person inside. Remember when you were a young child? Running around without fear, trying new things, making new friends.
I watch my nieces and other children --- they know so much that we have forgotten as adults. They embrace life, not allowing fear to hold them back. For just today, I challenge you to try something new, something different. Be playful, be curious… release the grip on that fear that holds you back. Let NOTHING hold you back.
